How to Measure Yourself for Made to Measure Native Wear

Six measurements, a soft tape and a friend. That is all you need for a perfect fit.

Slate Line Senator by TAB Wears

Made to measure native wear should feel as if it was cut for you, because it was. Taking accurate measurements at home is easy with a soft tape measure and someone to help.

Before you start

  • Wear a fitted T-shirt and light trousers.
  • Stand naturally, without holding your breath.
  • Keep the tape snug but not tight.

The six measurements

  1. Chest: around the fullest part of your chest, under the arms.
  2. Shoulders: across your back from one shoulder point to the other.
  3. Sleeve: from the shoulder point to the wrist bone, with your arm relaxed.
  4. Top length: from the base of the neck at the shoulder down to where you want the tunic to end.
  5. Waist: around your natural waist, where you usually wear your trousers.
  6. Trouser length: from your waist down the outside of your leg to the floor, wearing shoes.
